MEET Your Realtor

I am a Realtor®, author, and design consultant, who helps people find homes and sell them, re-design them new homes, and build a life in Oregon Wine Country.

Emily Grosvenor

Hi, I’m Emily Grosvenor (pronounced “Grove-ner),”

Home is everything I do.

Nothing interests me more than the particular mix of residence, neighborhood, community, geography, vibes, and palpable magic that makes a place truly feel like home.

I’ve always been this way. As a child, I drew floor plans and went to open houses every weekend with my mother. Since then, I’ve been a curious observer of how the places we live shape who we are, how we move through the world, and how we put down roots.

My career has taken me in some unexpected directions. I’ve lived in Germany as a Fulbright scholar, moved around the country, worked for an embassy, and reported on travel and design in Oregon. I edited Oregon Home, the state’s premier home-design magazine, and wrote a popular design book, Find Yourself At Home. I also work as a values-based design consultant, helping people see the possibilities in their own spaces.

These days, my work as a real estate broker specializing in Oregon Wine Country brings all of these interests together: a lifelong curiosity about how people make a home, an outsized passion for design, and what might be described as an almost otherworldly obsession with places and spaces.

I love the moment when a house starts to feel like a possibility, when a neighborhood begins to feel familiar, or when someone discovers a place that makes them think, Oh, I could really live here.

For me, real estate has always been about more than the property. It's about the life that happens around it.

A few things about me

  • My typing speed is 144 words per minute. (Yes, I've tested it.)

  • I once won a competitive game of live-action Oregon Trail and wrote about the experience for The Atlantic.

  • I've helped run Terroir, our homegrown literary festival, since 2013.

  • I'm an Enneagram One, the Reformer, which tracks with my lifelong tendency to see how things could work a little better.

  • My husband and I met while working as counselors at a German-language camp.

  • I'm certified in Feng Shui, the practice of arranging spaces to support the flow of energy.

My real estate philosophy: delight and magic

I believe in delight and magic. I also believe that buying or selling a home requires clear eyes, careful research, good communication, and someone who can keep track of the details while holding the bigger picture in mind.

I bring the exactitude of an editor, the organizational instincts of a cruise director, the service-mindedness of a teacher, and a deep interest in how today's decisions shape tomorrow's life.

But I also bring something that doesn't fit neatly into a transaction checklist: a drive to connect people with places, people with people, and ideas with possibilities. I love discovering the character of a town, finding the right person to help solve a problem, and imagining what a space could become. I want my clients to feel not only well-guided through the process, but genuinely excited about what's next.

Oregon Wine Country is a particularly rewarding place to do this work. Its towns each have their own personality, and finding the right fit means looking beyond a house to the community, landscape, and everyday life that come with it. Helping people discover that fit—and watching them build lives here that feel like their own—is the most satisfying part of my work.

If you connect with that way of looking at the world, I suspect we'll get along.

Let's chat.

What you can Expect

Integrity

Every Realtor abides by a Code of ethics. I take it a step further by applying my reporter’s hunger for truth and my firm belief in being diplomatically candid to my conversations with movers. No sugar-coating here! Being a Realtor who works in smaller communities means that I won’t just disappear after a transaction. All of my services are based on the expectation that you will have an exceptional experience and we will be excited to run into each other at the grocery store. It will happen!

Compassion

I am an empath on a mission to connect people to their chosen home. I remember what it was like to move — I’ve changed places nine times. Moving is one of life’s great transitions. I am here to bring a high level of heart and empathy to buying or selling your home.

Possibility

There are houses as they exist, and then there are houses with possibility. If you’re selling, I know just what to update to make your home attractive to buyers. If you’re buying, I can help you envision a future for your home. When you work with me, you get my trained eye from the decade I worked as Editor of Oregon Home magazine and my years as a design consultant who works locally. If you need help with your vision, want to connect with the best area contractors, and are excited to dream, I’m yours!

Persistence

I don’t just wait for things to happen — I make them happen. While much of what I do during a transaction is behind-the-scenes, I’ll communicate you throughout the process every step of the way. And you’ll always know that I am moving things forward. My drive— my dogged determination — comes from my years operating as an independent writer.

Delight

Shouldn’t some of this be fun? Home buying and selling come with their stressors and surprises. I am here for you through every bump, and am committed to making the process as delightful as possible. Consider me your Mary Poppins on the path. Whenever possible, I bring the magic!
